Department of Florida Commander’s Hillbilly Hoedown: A Night of Fun and Fundraising
On a lively evening that will be talked about for years to come, the Department of Florida Commander hosted his final fundraising event before the conclusion of his term in June 2025 — a spirited Hillbilly Hoedown.
Guests were invited to trade their usual formalwear for jeans, overalls, and straw hats, fully embracing the evening’s lighthearted, country-style theme.
The festivities were masterfully orchestrated by DJ Doc Holiday, with live music provided by the crowd-pleasing band Last Call. As the night went on, the Commander himself took center stage, singing alongside the band — and proving that his talents extend far beyond leadership. His performance was nothing short of outstanding, and he easily could have been mistaken for a seasoned entertainer rather than a departing Commander. The Hillbilly Hoedown was a tremendous success — a perfect reflection of the Commander’s dedication to service, community, and a little bit of well-earned fun.
We thank the Commander for his outstanding leadership, his unshakable spirit, and for reminding us all that sometimes the best way to build unity is with a song, a smile, and a good pair of overalls. We wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.
